The Green Light is a life affirming personality that can suddenly turn red. That’s how she is reminded of the importance to respect her own and other’s limits. The Listener listens to her own needs and feelings, at the same time as she is silently attentive and curious about all the beings around her. Together we will meet you in class to explore physical communication, deep play and the art of listening.
With our students we will create a nonverbal language based on gestures. This can evolve into an alternate tool for communication to use while being in the sensuous society of Sisters’ Academy.
We will explore and give form to our inner beings as well as give space for accepting what we are at the moment.
Our aim is to create an atmosphere that makes it easy to be present and honest with each other. Perhaps we can catch a glimpse of new perspectives of what we are and can become.
While doing all this we hope that playfulness will arrive in our minds and bodies.
Sisters Hope presented at SMK’s seminar ‘Performance in Institutions and Institutional Performances‘ alongside Kirsten Delholm (Hotel Pro Forma), Janus Høm (Tove’s), Ellen Friis (Live-Art), Jørgen Callesen (Warehouse 9) and Olof Olsson. See the full programme here.
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” (Marie Curie) “Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them.” (Brendan Francis)
