rainbow

there is a rainbow
there is a cliff
who by chance catch
each other's attention

"what are you?" asks the rainbow

"in human words, I am cliff"
replies the cliff

"and in human words
you are the soul of light
seen through raindrops"
states the cliff

the rainbow beams
and asks "what are human words?"

the cliff ponders for a moment
as if it can ponder

"human words are this right here
where the two of us exist
and in a moment we will be gone"
answers the cliff
from which a small stone breaks free
and tumbles into the abyss

thus the rain moves northwest
and the sunlight releases
a quiet sorrow in the cliff
as it witnesses the end of the rainbow
