Ablaze

It’s not a competition, it’s nature
The sunlight can’t bless everything

As the trees grow taller
Their crowns cast shadows wider
The forest floor flattens
Giving way to larger mammals
Further picking apart shrubbery

That is until a fire blazes through
A lifetime event changes everything
In the nights blink of an eye

The crowns fall
And all is reset
To start anew

How would your forest grow
If you had the courage to set it ablaze
