The story of hope, part Infinity

… continued from part air.

In the Cosmic Scrapyard, gods and humans, astray in the abyss after the end of the world, gathered around a little fire.

A conversation ensued between gods and humans.

Only fragments of the conversation are remembered.

“You stole”, the gods said.

“You ruled unfairly”. the humans replied.

The wind from the abyss stole the words that followed. Eventually the gods sighed:

“What did you want from us?”

“What did you want from us?”, the humans echoed.

Their silence nested in the silence of the abyss.

Meanwhile, hope, having slid out from Pandora’s cracked jar and into the ground, had now trickled into every little particle of all that lived and died in the Scrapyard.

Humans perceived this as a faint shimmer glowing on the surface of things.

Gods perceived it as a dark expanse opening inside of things.

Both saw, each in their manner of seeing, that the world, when it would come to creation the next time, would bear the name Pan-dora.
